Phil and his wife, Jewel, met at Grace University in Nebraska where Phil earned a degree in Christian Camping. Together, they have been serving in camp ministry for almost 20 years. Program Director Drew Pearson

                                                                                 Drew is a native of southwest Colorado, he                                                                                  actually had is first experience at SJBC at age 2                                                                                  and spent many summers here after as a camper                                                                                  and on staff. Drew graduated with a B.A. in                                                                                  Religion from Wayland Baptist University in 2004.                                                                                  In May of 2009 Drew rejoined SJBC as the Program Director. Drew is also presently working as a mentor for “at risk” youth in a local high school and pursuing his Masters in Educational Counseling/Administration.
     Emily moved to southwest Colorado when she was 10. She also attended SJBC and helped out as support staff and a counselor. In 2007 Emily graduated with a B.S. in Psychology/Sociology from Grove City College. She moved back to Colorado in the summer of 2009 and is currently an elementary school counselor in Cortez, she graduated with her M.Ed from Liberty University 2009.
Drew & Emily were married in December of 2009. It is their desire to use their gifts, live out their passions and enjoy everyday all for the glory of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Summer Staff
Looking for something a little different this summer? Want to spend your summer hanging out with kids in the beauty of southwest Colorado? Well we have a job for you. Positions available this summer are listed below. Pay varies according to position but each includes room and meals. Most positions require you to attend 1 or 2 weeks of paid training at the beginning of the summer. Summer staff have time off each week from Friday evening thru noon Sunday. Come and enjoy the outdoors and serve the Lord through serving kids this summer at SJBC.


Positions Available
• Head Counselors: 2 positions (1 male and 1 female), must be 21 years or older,
  prefer camp experience.
• Counselors: 10 positions (5 male, 5 female) must be 18 or older.
• Program Staff: 4 positions, must be 18 or older. Positions include: Craft Leader, Kitchen help,   Maintenance help and general support.
• Camp Nurse: 1 position (can bea single or multiple week position), must be a licensed nurse in CO.
• Camp Cook: 1 position (can be a single or multiple week position).
• Maintenance Lead: 1 position (can be a single or multiple week position).
• Worship Leader: 1 position (can be a single or multiple week position).

Staff Training for summer 2012
Begins May 27 for counselors and program staff and June 3 for all support staff.
